Franklin County STOP-DWI participated in the Franklin County Traffic Safety's snowmobile checkpoint in the Town of Franklin and the Town of Tupper Lake over the past two weekends. Also participating in the detail was New York State Forest Rangers & Encon Police, Franklin County Sheriff's Department, Tupper Lake Police and State Police Malone.

Marianne Angelillo. She has been speaking publicly since 2004 sharing her family’s journey in the hopes of preventing other families from experiencing such tragedy.

Frigid night on Super Bowl Sunday for the Washington County Officers, but they stuck it out to keep the roads safe.
The New York State Police and the Niagara County Sheriff's Office held a DWI Road Check in Lockport Super Bowl Sunday afternoon. Niagara County STOP-DWI provided informational material such as the STOP-DWI Mobile App, Decals and Key Chains that were passed out to motorists during the check.
“Our 4th Quarter STOP-DWI Award goes to Ontario County Assistant District Attorney Neal McClelland. Neal has tried over 300 DWI cases in Ontario County and has prosecuted more DWI cases than any other attorney in the history of New York. Neal has been with Ontario County for over 30 years and recently announced he plans to retire in the near future.
On Saturday, January 24, the Allegany County Sheriff's Department sponsored the inaugural Dan Barkely Basketball Showcase. This Showcase pitted five Allegany County schools against five schools from Steuben County to raise money for scholarships to be given by the Deputy Sheriff's Association. In partnership with New York City Council Member, NYC STOP-DWI distributed thousands of free metro cards to the public during the holiday season to encourage New Yorkers not to drive under the influence. Remember to still use the MTA or another plan to get home safely.
On Wednesday January 14, Franklin County STOP-DWI helped the "Mac's Safe Ride Continued" project by donating $1000. This program offers a free safe ride home Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm-3am. It is run entirely by volunteers and the ride is free with donations gladly accepted. We are very proud of Vivian Smith and her team for starting such a wonderful program.
