VIP

Rockland County has been greatly impacted by COVID-19 and we anticipate the pandemic will impact our operations into early 2021. Please read the vital information below about the Victim Impact Program.

**Note - Online options are currently not available. Although you can search for and find online programs, we have not authorized such programs for use in Rockland County. If we do find a need to offer an online program, we will make the information available and you will need to attend the online program offered by the Rockland County STOP-DWI program.

Our next Victim Impact Program (VIP) will be held Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 6:30 pm. There will be a Spanish-speaking class that evening, so let us know if you require that option.    CANCELLED

*Pre-registration IS required by calling:  (845) 364-8525 or sending an email to stopdwi@co.rockland.ny.us. Space is limited and walk-ins will be turned away unless space is available.  If you are unable to attend, please notify us immediately so we can fill your spot.

VIP is held at the Fire Training Center

35 Firemen's Memorial Drive

Pomona, NY 10970

Doors open at 5:30 pm for check-in. Sessions begin promptly at 6:30 pm. Please arrive on time.  All attendees will be tested for alcohol use by a law enforcement officer. If you test positive, you will not be allowed to enter. If you are denied entry, we will notify your referring court and/or Probation.

Programs will run for approximately two hours.

The fee to attend is $50. Payable by cash or money order payable to Rockland County STOP-DWI.

Please bring photo ID and your referral form.

At this time only those mandated to attend by court order or directed to attend by a government agency may register for a program. Once pandemic restrictions are lifted, we will welcome other members from the public who wish to attend a program based on space availability.

Rockland County has a policy of NOT rescheduling a missed Victim Impact Program.  You are Court Ordered to appear and your failure to do the same will result in a visit back to the sentencing Judge. If there is an emergency that necessitates rescheduling, you must do so through your sentencing court.

Future scheduled Victim Impact Panels have been tentatively scheduled for the following 2021 dates:

Wednesday March 3, 2021

Wednesday April 21, 2021

Tuesday June 1, 2021

Tuesday September 14, 2021

Tuesday October 26, 2021

Tuesday December 7, 2021

Until further notice we will have reduced capacity available for any program. As soon as you are referred to the program you should call or email to secure your spot.

We will have some programs for those who require a class in Spanish. If you require such a class contact our office as soon as you have been scheduled by your court so we can determine availability.

Education Consultants

Our program has a cadre of active and retired police officers with vast experience in the area of impaired driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

The consultants are available on request to speak to our community. Emphasis is on education our youth, and school sessions are the most common forum for our education consultants.

We have both in-person and online options so if you would like to discuss the program or schedule a session please contact our office.
