We posthumously recognize Doris Aiken for over 35 years of dedication to preventing impaired driving.   Founder of Remove Intoxicated Drivers, a true pioneer, advocate and “pit bull” champion for victims and families affected by impaired drivers; she will forever be remembered because she truly made a difference!

The Lewis Henry Morgan Institute’s One Second Exhibit Series explores the stories of crash victims across New York State. These forensic-style exhibits focus on high-risk factors such as: the combination of driving and alcohol and/or drug use, excessive speed, and distractions, such as phone use and texting while driving.

The trajectory of Kevin Thompson’s life took a solid turn the day he got his driver’s license. On the way home from passing the test, with his father buckled beside him in the passenger’s seat, Thompson witnessed a devastating, fatal accident.

Franklin County STOP-DWI conducted an Underage Buyer Detail in conjunction with the Malone based New York State Police on Saturday February 4th.   In this detail we have an underage buyer attempt to purchase alcohol from local establishments that sell alcohol products in northern Franklin County.

The Daniel Barkley Showcase was held on January 13-14 at Alfred University.  This is a showcase of high school basketball teams from Allegany and Steuben Counties playing against each other.  A revolving trophy is presented with the name of the winning county.  A large part of the showcase is local agencies presenting drug/alcohol educational information to students and the general public.  Sho

On July 19, 2015, Amy Stock was killed by a drunk driver.  Amy's sister, Eileen Anania, an Otsego County resident, worked with the Otsego County Sheriff and STOP-DWI to bring the demolished car to the county where she lives.  In an effort to preserve the car, tell Amy's story and educate the public on the dangers of drinking and driving the STOP-DWI Amy Stock Memorial was created.

"The Allegany County STOP-DWI Program held our Annual Cookies and Wassail Day on Monday, December 12.  This day is presented as an alcohol-free alternative for Christmas parties.  Students from the Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES in Belmont prepared around 1300 cookies and nine gallons of wassail which were provided to county employees and legislators.  Pictured are Marina Guiney of Cuba-Rushford CS

Monroe County STOP-DWI in conjunction with Rochester Against Intoxicated Driving (RAID), held the 2016 "Lights on for Life" Motorcade on December 10.  This year Monroe County was joined by Genesee, Livingston and Wayne Counties Sheriff's Office's with each supplying a  vehicle for support.
