Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that legislation he sponsors to strengthen Leandra’s Law has been approved by the Senate’s Transportation Committee.  The legislation would close an unintended legal loophole which is allowing convicted drunk drivers to escape the mandatory ignition interlock requirement under Leandra’s Law.

In his 24 years with the Ontario County District Attorney’s Office, District Attorney R. Michael Tantillo said he has seen the community’s attitude toward driving while intoxicated improve significantly. He attributes the change, in part, to his office’s reputation of being tough in prosecuting DWI cases.

New York State STOP-DWI Coordinators to Participate in Statewide STOP-DWI Super Bowl Weekend Crackdown Enforcement Effort – February 1 – 4, 2013. The New York State STOP-DWI Association is pleased to announce their cooperative efforts to participate in a special enforcement effort to crackdown on impaired driving.

The “Courage to Serve” exhibit was produced by Dr. Denis Foley in cooperation with the Lewis Henry Morgan Institute at the State University of New York Institute of Technology (SUNYIT) in Utica, NY and the Albany County STOP-DWI Program.
